Spondylosis

General Information

Spondylosis is a term that describes the collective changes that occur with facet arthritis. It not only describes changes in the facet joints but the intervertebral disc as well. It usually suggests advanced disease or degeneration and is usually diagnosed by plain x-rays, CT scanning, or MRI imaging. The majority of the population will develop these changes most will be asymptomatic. The potential danger is in the development of a condition called spinal and foraminal stenosis causing varying degrees of pinched nerves or spinal cord compression.
