Pulled Muscle
General Information
A pulled muscle can occur anywhere in the spine and can be a slight tear of the muscle, an incomplete or partial tear, or a complete rupture. These injuries usually involve a large area of the muscle and can be quite painful. In addition to actual muscle tissue, structures also involved include tendons which attach the muscle to a bone and fascial sheaths which is the “bag” that contains or holds the muscle tissue together.
