Q. Is spinal instability the same as spondylolisthesis?
Spinal instability can occur with a spondylolisthesis and the terms are often used interchangeably. However, it is important to realize that a spondylolisthesis does not have to present to cause spinal instability and vice-versa. They are in essence, two separate problems.
